I am here to share my story. Part 1 will address “what” that is. This is completely new and scary for me. I tend to shy away from the spotlight and would rather the attention be on someone else, but here’s hoping that my story might help YOU.
From a very young age I knew I wanted to help people. I have countless memories of “teaching” my dolls and lecturing my easy-going brother (will introduce him very soon!) I grew up swimming so I naturally became a swim coach, eager with excitement when my protégés would improve their times. I wound up in relationships with people who I thought I could fix. Does that ever happen? No. Thankfully I learned to love myself and value my self worth, no longer tolerating anyone who didn’t do the same. Enter Alan. (My loving husband will be granted the spotlight soon as well…anyone who knows him, knows he LIVES for this ;)) I nannied all through college and thereafter while pursuing my Masters in Elementary Education. Do you notice a trend here? Helping others, especially in regards to teaching, was just always something that came naturally to me. I am currently teaching 4th grade and have been in the classroom for seven years. I do love my job and rejoice in the accomplishments of my students. I recently watched a webinar hosted by Mastin Kipp (follow him if you aren’t already!) and the main takeaway for me was his quote “You are a healer.” In the classroom I am teacher, mom, janitor, technician, counselor, peacemaker, event coordinator, customer service representative, nurse… you name it, I’m it. Under all hats, I do my best to remedy anything that is of need. I heal. I’ve always healed.
Now it’s time to heal myself. I’ve decided to clean out my body, consciously making choices that support it, not harm it. I’m going to continue to educate myself as I just recently enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). I start Monday! I want to learn all that I can about nutrition, how the body processes food, and how I can repair my insides with healthier food choices. Konsciouslyklean stands for the “konscious” effort I make each day to improve myself and my health. K.L.E.A.N is an acronym for Kimberly’s lifestyle, education, and nutrition. I use “Ks” instead of “Cs” because I like them better and it’s the first letter of my name. 🙂
So, what will I be doing? I’ll be blogging about my journey through this program, sharing what I learn, and how I apply it to my lifestyle and food choices. In #kleaning out my body I’ve really established a passion for cooking, so I’ll be posting lots of recipes that you might want to try. I’ve grown borderline obsessed with living a #klean life, so you will also see me post my organic, nontoxic, holistic finds. I’d love to share this journey with you and promise to make it worthwhile.
As I #klean out my body and life, I hope you learn tips and tricks to do the same! Happy reading 🙂
