My name is Kimberly and I’ve designed this blog to document the steps I’m taking to get better. In 2015, I was diagnosed with Barrett’s Esophagus, a precancerous condition in which the tissue lining the esophagus is replaced by abnormal, precancerous tissue. Basically my esophagus lining has been destroyed by stomach acid. This condition is most common in males over 50 years old. I also have a hiatal hernia, where part of my stomach is pushing into my esophagus. Finally, I was diagnosed with SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth). Fun right? As you might imagine, I suffer from horrible acid reflux, bloating, and IBS. My poor gut is in need of some major TLC.
I am here share information learned from Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and other things I find relevant to #klean living and eating. My goal is to reverse my Barrett’s and get rid of the SIBO. I want to feel better. I want to get healthy. I have completely changed my lifestyle, making conscious decisions to eat clean and use organic, nontoxic, and holistic products in every area of my life. I will be sharing what works for me. As I #klean out my body and life I hope you learn tips and tricks to do the same!
If I’m not obsessing over the latest health and wellness trend or cooking up a storm in the kitchen, here are ten things you can find me doing:
- Hanging out with my amazing husband, Alan.
- Biking around Newport Beach, CA
- Trying a new restaurant (or visiting one of our favorites)
- Going to The Dailey Method Newport Beach (barre class)
- Teaching my awesome class of 4th graders
- Traveling the world
- Going on a run or hike
- Watching reality TV (housewives, Kardashians, house hunters, fixer upper, bachelor)
- Listening to a podcast
- Sipping on some Rombauer (the best chardonnay I have ever tasted!)
I’m excited to connect with you! If you have any questions or comments feel free to email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
